"Virginia is a healer. I've suffered from chronic back and shoulder pain. She has taken a holistic approach to easing my pain and re-aligning my body. She has offered suggestion outside the massage space such as stretches and soaks that has significantly improved my pain and mobility. She truly offers therapeutic massage."

Leo Caldwell
Project Manager

"Since your work I’ve had an almost 90% improvement of my right side. I’ve been stretching a ton and rolling. Thank you so much!"

Anthony Koehl
USMC, F/A-18 Pilot

"Excellent! Deep pressure, slow pace, VERY intutitve. I can tell she listens to the body and slows down when encountering dense tissue. Great instincts. Her intention and concentration can be felt. Wonderful work!"

"I am a person who believes in self care. I know that if I am going to wear the various hats and lead an active life, I need to be healthy, grounded, and recharged. Bodywork is vital to my health, my ability to do my job with grace and ease, and my overall wellbeing. Today, I gifted myself a massage by Virginia Batson. If you are looking for a massage therapist who listens to concerns, tailors each appointment to client needs, knows how to come at an issue using more than one modality,  and offers tips for you to stretch and continue to be well in your body, please do check her out. She worked wonders for my hips today. What a blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you."

ABOUT Virginia

I seek to build nurturing, supportive partnerships with my clients. I customize each session for you and the state of your body in that moment: attending to new and old disturbances in the muscles and fascia with anatomically precise bodywork, heightening the mind-body connection, and enhancing your wellbeing with self-care education and stretching suggestions. I draw from many techniques, including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, Cupping, and Gua Sha.

I graduated from the Lourdes Institute of Wholistic Studies at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in 2016. I have studied ballet, modern dance, contact improvisation, and yoga for many years, and have recently taught at Cooper River Ballet in Collingswood. After receiving my MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from The University of the Arts, I kept an active visual art practice, worked
in education, and coordinated the Philadelphia Open Studio Tours. I maintain an active interest in holistic health and led the West Jersey/Philadelphia chapter of the Holistic Moms Network
from 2010-2015.

It would be a privilege to work with you in your journey to love living in your body.

I use Sacred Earth Botanicals Vegan Massage Cream made with organic aloe barbadensis leaf juice and organic sunflower seed oil.
It is free of parabens, nut oils, gluten, and fragrances, and is made in Eugene, Oregon at a facility powered by 100% renewable energy.
